One of the issues I hear from time to time from some of the Tableau users is that they received a tableau workbook created by another coworker, and they are unable to open or load it. The loading of the workbook fails since it was created with a version higher than what is installed in their local machine.
For those situations, Tableau provides a way to save a deprecated version of the workbook, so you can share with users running an older version of Tableau desktop.
